Of course, like most girls nowadays, I'm a big Twilight Saga fan! When the last movie was released, I went to the movies with my friends to watch it. Keep reading to find out what I thought about it!

Concentration - truth or myth?
As a child, I was hyperactive and intense. I had a lot of trouble concentrating in class which, or focusing on finishing my homework. Today, I find that I have the exact same problem, but I'm determined to do something about it.

Reality
The other day, while I was stuck in traffic, something weird popped into my head: what if everything we think is real, doesn't exist?

Saying Goodbye
Nope, not to the blog! =)
Have you ever stopped to count how many people you've said goodbye to? If you do, you'll probably realize that it's been more people than you'd expected.

Decisions...
As I sit here in my office, with nobody near because it's really early, I started to think about the decisions we make.

Running and more running =)
Well, I haven't been updating my running routine!! This is also because this past week I didn't really run much, my bed took me hostage and didn't allow me to get up and go running. =(

Thoughts on Monday: Justice
I suppose each and every one of us has been in a situation we think is not fair at all. But, are we really entitled to justice or is it just payback time for something else we've done before?

I did it!!! My first 5K!!!!
Well, of course, I've been slacking on my posts. I suck at this and I'm not liking the fact that I should be posting way more stuff but I never make some time do actually do it. However, I do have some exciting news to share with you guys!

Update: My Running Routine!
This week was super relaxed for me. My instructor told me I had to relax and let my muscles rest in order to be ready for my first 5K.

A reason to believe
No, I'm not talking about Coca-Cola's ad campaign for this year! I'm talking about what reasons I have to believe in a better world, in something greater than humanity and myself.

One dream at a time
As I promised, I'm updating my running routine... and I have awesome news I can't even believe myself!

Trust
Recently, since I haven't been able to write, I've been thinking about what would be interesting to blog about. Of course, I found a million blogs that are better than mine in the process and even considered dropping this one altogether. However, I decided I won't, at least not for now. Hope you enjoy this post!
On my way to a marathon... soon!
I wanted to update you on how my routine for running changed this week! Keep reading =)

Running Update!
I have loads to update you on! I have been M.I.A. because we started Marketing Plan at work, so I'm working really long hours and getting not much free time to think about anything else or even to sleep.
Here's an update on my exercise routine! =)

Waiting... and waiting: Thoughts before an important meeting
I always considered myself a patient person because my benchmark was the least patient person I've ever know. However, I found out that's not a synonym for being patient myself.

Exercise: Running!
Well, I've got news to share. Yesterday I started what I consider a new adventure: running. This is a really funny story for me to be writing about, since I've always thought running isn't for me. I guess I was wrong. =)

Random Sunday, No Inspiration
Ironically enough, now that I've slept over 12 hours in a row, relaxed, disconnected from work and enjoyed watching Transformers 3 with Chris - the boyfriend <3 - I can't find inspiration to write! I've deleted 3 potential posts because I found them too dull, which sucks! It's not fair!

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets: Starting!
Just a quick update! =)
Well, I've finally started the second book! My goal is to read the first three before I watch the last movie on July 14th, because they're the ones I remember the least. Besides, my boyfriend just read books 4-6 and is currently finishing the 7th one! Yesterday we bought the tickets to see the last movie, so you can imagine how excited we are! I was impressed to see that half the tickets were already gone, good thing we already have ours!
The only thing I'm worried about is the hectic week that awaits me. Lately I've been so busy I doubt I'll get enough time to read the three books before watching the movie! Let's hope I make it!
See you soon,
Ren =)

Elle & Blair: Makeup Gurus
As you know by now, most of my spare time i spend on my computer. One of the websites I'm loving is www.elleandblair.com, which belongs to Elle and Blair Fowler. They are two makeup gurus that started posting their beauty videos a long time ago and have come a long way since. I totally recommend their videos, they are super funny and will have you laughing in no time.
They share a lot of themselves in their videos, talking about their family, day-to-day lives and adventure. Some of my favorite parts are their outfits of the day, hauls and videos about nothing in particular.
Make sure to visit their YouTube channels as well:
Elle:

Blair:

Working on a Weekend
This is not new for me, I've worked on weekends before. However, I think that in the past I've never been as tired. The reason why I've been M.I.A. lately is because my work load this week has been endless. We are starting the Brand Review and Marketing Plan phase of the year, and it's been even more intense than they'd warned me.
T.V. Ads I'm Liking!
The other day I saw two TV ad's I absolutelty loved. We were taking a seminar on emotional advertising campaigns at the office where they showed us some TV commercials. They were examples of campaigns made to connect with consumers in a differentiated way so the message would have better remembrance.
Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone: Finished!
Well, I finally finished it! No, it didn't take me this long to read it! I've been working such long hours that I really haven't had that much energy to sit down and read. I did try to, though, and of course ended up falling asleep. The good thing is that now that I actually finished it, I loved it!
My thoughts on it:

People and Other Weird Things
Haven't you ever noticed how hard to understand people can be sometimes? We share moments with them on a daily basis, we enjoy their company, we curse at them from our cars, we love or hate them, we live with them, near them... they're a part of who we are, and viceversa. But, there comes a moment when you just want to be alone. All of us have our fair share of problems, worries and dreams. Sometimes, all we wish to do is focus on our personal projects and forget about the rest, eventhough it always turns into an imposible feat. Our destiny is to share however much we are personally capable of with them.

Makeup Tip: Sigma Makeup Brushes
Recently, I bought a set of makeup brushes from Sigma Makeup. I used a coupon that Tiffany D tweeted and I got a 10% discount on my purchase. I've been told the quality of these brushes is the same as MAC Cosmetics. Since I wanted to see for myself, I bought a 219 MAC brush that's used to blend eyeliner into your eyeshadows for a clean smoky eye look to compare it with Sigma's E30. As soon as I get my Sigma brushes I'll experiment the smokey eye look with both and post photo's! There's something about getting new makeup stuff that's always exciting!
For now, here's a small preview of both brushes... can you tell the difference? They look quite similar to me. On the left, you can see the Sigma E30, on the right, the MAC 219.
I'll keep you posted, I'm really excited about this!
See you soon,
Ren =)
Makeup Tip: Lemon Aid by Benefit
It's been over a year since I've been using this product and I absolutely love it. A few moments ago I saw that I'm running out, so I MUST go and buy another one to replace it. So, of course, I decided to write a blog post about it. I use this product as a primer before I apply my eye shadows. Lemon Aid comes in a round box and looks like an eyeshadow eventhough it has a creamy consistency. It works like a charm, you only need to apply a little bit with the tip of your fingers on your lids and then do your makeup as you always do. Reorganizing my Room: Phase 1
I don't really have anything special to write about today, but I do have many things on my mind - as usual! The main idea that crossed my mind this morning when I woke up is the fact that I need to clean my closet. This past week I had no time to put things away, so everything is kind of thrown in there randomly with no specific order. I think I have some level of OCD because when I know that I am not being organized I have a lot of trouble sleeping. My mind keeps thinking about it and doesn't let me rest until I do something about it.

Late at night
I had a horrible day today. People at work today managed to get on my nerves more than ever. Usually, I try to contain my anger when I don't like something until I can process it into a more balanced feeling. Today, I didn't care anymore. After a week of having people dispose of my time as if it were a box of tissues in a waiting room, I decided I'm through with it. The good thing is HR was near me when I set people straight and backed me up. I don't mind having a lot of work or a difficult schedule. What i DO mind - and a lot - is having people think they can send me at midnight to another city to check something that can perfecly wait until the next morning. That's just being rude!
Let's hope after this they learn to be more respectful with other people's time.
The good thing is that after this horrible week, I finally had time to go out with friends and get distracted. It's super refreshing to be with people that are like you and understand you.

Sorry for the rant...

Opportunities: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!
I couldn't help writing a blog post as soon as this popped into my head. It's the kind of thing that won't leave you alone until you pay attention to it, so I'll write something quick so I can concentrate on what I was doing again! How many life-changing opportunities have you had in your life? I know I've had my fair share and I'm only 23!

Thoughts on Monday
Most of the people who know me well know that I complain a lot about almost anything. It's not something I love about myself, but it's also something I can't deny. I guess it comes with being an only child. You get to complain more because all the attention is usually on you. I don't recommend doing it so often, people around you get tired of it and you get a lot of: "Boy! You love complaining, don't you?" At first, you laugh it off, but after a couple of different people say the same exact phrase, you realize you're an annoying person! Now that I think of it, I guess I've ranted a bit in my blog. Oh well! Old habits die hard. =(

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone: Update!
It's been more than 10 years since I last read this book. Now that I am rereading it, I think it's even better than before. The main difference is, of course, that I know exactly what will happen in the next books, so I'm putting more attention to the small details. There's a lot you miss when you're going through it for the first time, because you're too busy trying to imagine this new world that some things just slip.

Just a regular Saturday
After spending today in the sun, I realized how relaxing it is just to enjoy doing nothing. We are usually so caught up in the madness of our everyday lives that when we stop and relax, it almost feels wrong. Nope, what's wrong is not to have more of those moments on a daily basis!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
As some of you know, I recently made a short trip to Orlando to celebrate my college graduation! It was an amazing trip with some friends and my boyfriend. We went to some of the Disneyworld parks and Universal Studios. As you can imagine, one of my favorite parts of the trip was, obviously, going to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

My Favorite YouTube Makeup Guru!
It was little over a year ago when I found myself in a ridiculous situation: I realized I hadn't the slightest idea of how I should do my makeup. I regularly read some fashion magazines from time to time, watched fashion-related TV shows and did my homework in keeping up with some trends - sometimes. However, I felt clueless and fashion impaired. And yes, it is as pathetic as it sounds. I think there comes a time in every girl's life when you feel the need to look good not for others but for yourself. That was precisely what happened to me a year ago. It wasn't about what other people thought of me, it was about how I felt about myself. I needed a change.
Savage Garden
Even though this group split up ages ago, they're still my favorite duo. When I was a teenager I was in love with their songs. Their album Affirmation is probably the only one I know all the lyrics by heart. Savage Garden forms a pretty important part of my life. My taste in music has evolved with time, of course, but these guys I always seem to go back to. They are to me what The Beatles are to my boyfriend. Well, sort of.... The Beatles are The Beatles, and will probable remain unparalleled for me.

Rambling on Monday
After a wonderful weekend in the sun, I think that one of the worst things that can happen is going back to reality. That's what sucks about vacations or short breaks... they come to an end way too soon. Today, as I sit in front of my computer at work, I wonder if this is really it. When I pictured being an adult, nobody told me it was this boring. I always imagined myself doing amazing things such as becoming a doctor, a cool scientist that found a cure for rare diseases, the editor of a magazine or even a princess - yeah, I was naive and dreamt big, haha.

Gossip Girl and The Big Bang Theory
I'm a huge fan of american TV shows. When I was little, I used to watch some of them with my parents. Somehow, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement and Seinfield are a part of my childhood. It was only natural that as I got older, I'd develop a taste for watching TV series. At the moment, my two favorites are The Big Bang Theory and Gossip Girl!
Reading
Ever since I was little, reading has been one of my favorite hobbies. I remember logging into Amazon.com and ordering insane amounts of books that I would go through as quick as I possibly could. It's a great way of developing a child's imagination. Reading helps you enter new worlds that you never believed possible. For me, it was like going on a short vacation to wherever the main character in my book was located. It was living vicariously through their experiences and learning something new by only turning pages.

Yoga!
I haven't been exercising much this year, which of course, was one of my New Year's resolutions - epic fail! This situation hasn't exactly been due to slacking or procrastinating, oh no! I was in a car crash a few months ago, nothing serious, but I had to wear a neck brace for a couple of days and, after that, some physical therapy sessions to fully recover the movement of my neck and back. Stress, as you may know, doesn't help healing wounds. So, it has taken me way more than I ever expected to get my life entirely back. I know, it's stupid... it was a very mild car crash!

Flashlights
It amazes me how things that happened a long time ago can still hurt you. Of course, this only happens when you haven't accepted, processed or let it all go. It's been a while since I had talked about my personal background, my family and where I come from. It took me by surprise to find out how much it hurt to remember it all. Usually, it never really bothers me to tell people the sad story of my childhood. Sometimes, when I talk about it, it feels as if I'm telling someone else's story. Others, it feels like an out-of-body experience where I see myself from the outside telling what happened, disconnected from my emotions and thoughts. Today, strangely enough, I almost broke into tears when I talked about it. Obviously, it means I'm not over it; big surprise, huh?

Chaos
For the past 6 months of my life, the constant factor in it has been chaos. I not only finished college, which implied a big change for me, but I also started working at a new company. It has been a great challenge from the very first day. Everything, including trying to adapt to a difficult work environment, to finding myself without a boss 2 months into this new adventure, has been a challenge. I have learned more than I could ever think possible in a very short time. However, it has taken a toll on me, both physically and emotionally. The true question behind all of this would be: has it been worth it?

Simple things make me happy
Hello!
Well, today was an interesting and quite long day. My day started at 4:45 a.m. with lots of work to do because I had to help at an event we had today from 6:00 a.m. until noon. I know, it's almost inhuman to work that early on a Sunday, it took every ounce of my energy to wake up on time! After that, I went to visit my boyfriend. After 4 and a half years of dating, I am more sure than ever that I want to spend every second of my life with him! He has helped me through the worst times of my life and has shared my happiness and triumphs; he's simply the best!

Welcome!
Hello everyone!
My name is Renata, and I'm new around here. Recently, I decided to start a new adventure: opening my own blog. One of my greatest passions in life is writing, so it was only logical for me to start one! I must admit I haven't written in a long time, so my skills might be a bit rusty.
This space is open for anyone who is interested in reading it. I decided I won't be writing about anything in particular, just any thoughts that come to mind, things I'm passionate about (we'll get to know each other soon!) or things that interest me/ caught my attention. I hope to find people with similar interests and learn lots from this experience.
Talk to you soon!
Ren =)
