To flow, to live, to love

Change is inevitable. Every day we wake up being a slightly different version of ourselves, hopefully better and renewed from yesterday's learning experiences. There are days I feel the same, some I feel younger and other a bit wiser or stronger. However, there's always that life lesson waiting right around the corner to test you. The real question is: are you ready?

I wrote this post a LONG time ago and completely forgot about it. I am glad I did because now it means so much more with what's been happening in my life!

Where have you been, Ren?

I have been away for over 6 months... a lot longer than 6 months, actually. When I originally wrote this post, it had been 6 months, now we're about to hit the year without posting. Procrastinating much, huh? Sadly, I have no heroic story to tell, no monster's death to brag about or a foreign land to have conquered. The only thing I have conquered is my own fears, for I have been on a life-changing experience since March 2012 and it all indicates it will continue to get interesting.

The question now is... where have I been? Beware, rambling ahead!

5 Tips to Stay Happy No Matter the Weather

To say that it has been rainy in Mexico City is an understatement. The weather lately has made days cloudy and dark even when it's not raining that makes me wonder if it's really summer. I'm a person that loves this kind of weather, because it makes the plants and trees look beautiful!

However, after several days of little or no sun, I found myself feeling tired and without energy. Here are 5 useful tips to avoid feeling blue and stay positive! Actually, I think these apply to our everyday lives, but are especially useful when we're not feeling that great.

Special Occasions... Weddings and whatnot

Every now and then, we find ourselves being a part of social events that are different to what we're normally used to. They require a certain etiquette and behaviour to your usual social routine. During these events, you talk to people you haven't seen in ages, and what's most important: you have to step outside of your comfort zone in order to share this time with 'new people'. What does this have to do with anything? It makes you understand just how unique every person in the world is.

Friendships: The Joy!

They say that a woman's friends are the siblings she chose to have in life. I am an only child, so for me, this has been more than true. Thanks to my friends I have been shaped into the person that I am today. I believe that the people who surround us are the ones who help build you up.

Why exercise? Is it really THAT important?

Well, a while ago I used to write about my running routine. The reason why I stopped writing about that is because I stopped running as frequently. My job schedule got crazy and I postponed what seemed easier at the moment: exercise. However, I learned that this wasn't my smartest move. Now, I'm happy to report I'm back on track. =)

Decisions...

As I sit here in my office, with nobody near because it's really early, I started to think about the decisions we make.

Thoughts on Monday

Most of the people who know me well know that I complain a lot about almost anything. It's not something I love about myself, but it's also something I can't deny. I guess it comes with being an only child. You get to complain more because all the attention is usually on you. I don't recommend doing it so often, people around you get tired of it and you get a lot of: "Boy! You love complaining, don't you?" At first, you laugh it off, but after a couple of different people say the same exact phrase, you realize you're an annoying person! Now that I think of it, I guess I've ranted a bit in my blog. Oh well! Old habits die hard. =(

Rambling on Monday

After a wonderful weekend in the sun, I think that one of the worst things that can happen is going back to reality. That's what sucks about vacations or short breaks... they come to an end way too soon. Today, as I sit in front of my computer at work, I wonder if this is really it. When I pictured being an adult, nobody told me it was this boring. I always imagined myself doing amazing things such as becoming a doctor, a cool scientist that found a cure for rare diseases, the editor of a magazine or even a princess - yeah, I was naive and dreamt big, haha.

Simple things make me happy

Hello!

Well, today was an interesting and quite long day. My day started at 4:45 a.m. with lots of work to do because I had to help at an event we had today from 6:00 a.m. until noon. I know, it's almost inhuman to work that early on a Sunday, it took every ounce of my energy to wake up on time! After that, I went to visit my boyfriend. After 4 and a half years of dating, I am more sure than ever that I want to spend every second of my life with him! He has helped me through the worst times of my life and has shared my happiness and triumphs; he's simply the best!

Welcome!

Hello everyone!
My name is Renata, and I'm new around here. Recently, I decided to start a new adventure: opening my own blog. One of my greatest passions in life is writing, so it was only logical for me to start one! I must admit I haven't written in a long time, so my skills might be a bit rusty.

This space is open for anyone who is interested in reading it. I decided I won't be writing about anything in particular, just any thoughts that come to mind, things I'm passionate about (we'll get to know each other soon!) or things that interest me/ caught my attention. I hope to find people with similar interests and learn lots from this experience.

Talk to you soon!

Ren =)
