Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets: Starting!

Just a quick update! =)

Well, I've finally started the second book! My goal is to read the first three before I watch the last movie on July 14th, because they're the ones I remember the least. Besides, my boyfriend just read books 4-6 and is currently finishing the 7th one! Yesterday we bought the tickets to see the last movie, so you can imagine how excited we are! I was impressed to see that half the tickets were already gone, good thing we already have ours!

The only thing I'm worried about is the hectic week that awaits me. Lately I've been so busy I doubt I'll get enough time to read the three books before watching the movie! Let's hope I make it!

See you soon,
Ren =)

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone: Finished!

Well, I finally finished it! No, it didn't take me this long to read it! I've been working such long hours that I really haven't had that much energy to sit down and read. I did try to, though, and of course ended up falling asleep. The good thing is that now that I actually finished it, I loved it!

My thoughts on it:

Thoughts on Monday

Most of the people who know me well know that I complain a lot about almost anything. It's not something I love about myself, but it's also something I can't deny. I guess it comes with being an only child. You get to complain more because all the attention is usually on you. I don't recommend doing it so often, people around you get tired of it and you get a lot of: "Boy! You love complaining, don't you?" At first, you laugh it off, but after a couple of different people say the same exact phrase, you realize you're an annoying person! Now that I think of it, I guess I've ranted a bit in my blog. Oh well! Old habits die hard. =(

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone: Update!

It's been more than 10 years since I last read this book. Now that I am rereading it, I think it's even better than before. The main difference is, of course, that I know exactly what will happen in the next books, so I'm putting more attention to the small details. There's a lot you miss when you're going through it for the first time, because you're too busy trying to imagine this new world that some things just slip.

Reading

Ever since I was little, reading has been one of my favorite hobbies. I remember logging into Amazon.com and ordering insane amounts of books that I would go through as quick as I possibly could. It's a great way of developing a child's imagination. Reading helps you enter new worlds that you never believed possible. For me, it was like going on a short vacation to wherever the main character in my book was located. It was living vicariously through their experiences and learning something new by only turning pages.
