T.V. Ads I'm Liking!

The other day I saw two TV ad's I absolutelty loved. We were taking a seminar on emotional advertising campaigns at the office where they showed us some TV commercials. They were examples of campaigns made to connect with consumers in a differentiated way so the message would have better remembrance.

The first ad is from the David Cornfield Melanoma Fund (DCMF). This fund is dedicated to save people from melanoma through awareness of the disease. Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can be deadly if not treated on time. This ad is terribly sad, and made me cry, but it tells a story in which several melanoma survivors talk about their illness. Their main objective is to promote awareness and prevent people from dying or finding out they have this type of cancer when it's already too late. Here's the link for the TV commercial:

The second one is from MSF (Médicos Sin Fronteras) or Doctors Without Borders, which is an international medical humanitarian organization that assists people in need in different countries. This campaign, called "Pills for other people's pain", was launched in Spain as a way to raise funds for those in need of medicine in Third World Countries. In Spain, the economic crisis pushed people to stop donating because they are terribly worried about meeting their own needs.

These pills helped Doctors Without Borders raise 3 million medicine boxes for people in Bolivia with Chagas disease and with HIV in Zimbabue that can't afford them. The creative idea revolves around people in First World Countries having the medicine they need at their reach, but people in need don't. What would happen is what ached wasn't our own pain but someone else's? The donation could be made through purchasing boxes with 6 mint flavored candies that represent 6 diseases people rarely think about: Chagas, Tuberculosis, Kala Azar, Malaria, AIDS and Sleeping Sickness.

Very inspiring ad, here are a couple of links:
